The Froville priory, built in 1080,
is one of the first settlements the benedictine monks of Cluny established
in Lorraine.
Its steeple dominates a small village, home of 120 inhabitants, midway between Nancy and Epinal.

| The romanesque nave,
inherited from the 11th century, is lengthened by a gothic choir and a
magnificent cloister dating from the 13th century and of which several
windows are exhibited at the Metropolitan
Museum of New York.
The nave's ceiling of Carolingian origin has been restored exactly according to historical and acoustic tradition. Therefore, the Froville church provides a prestigious arena for the mightiest voices during the festival of sacred and baroque music.The Association of the friends Frovilles cultural patrimony has shown great dedication for animation and promotion this prestigious site since 1997 through especially organisation the festival of sacred and baroque music and the priory's 3D reconstitution project. Its ambition is revealed in a fondatory text, "Odouin's choice". |
